PyTD is a flexible and powerful tournament directing tool that provides event coordinators with an integrated suite of planning, pairing, and reporting resources in one easy-to-use application.

PyTD is written in Python atop the wxPython GUI toolkit, and is free to use (but contributions are much appreciated).

Features:

  • Scalable. Reliably manages 5-, 500-, and even 5000-player events.
  • Supports Swiss-McMahon, Swiss, Elo, AccelRat, and Baltimore-8 style tournaments.
  • Full support for AGA events; EGF comprehension in development.
  • Ideal for new and seasoned directors. Allows veterans the flexibility to break the rules; takes care of the details for first-timers.
  • Handles all the tedious paperwork. Generate print-ready pairing charts, cross-tabs, a submission-ready final report, and others with just a few clicks.
  • Tie-break the field with up to five keys in any order (choose from SOS, SODOS, SOSOS, SOSODOS, SOSOSOS, SOOS, SOOSOS, SOMS, SODOMS, SOSOMS, and SOOMS).
  • CUA-compliant keyboard shortcuts.
